The Illinois Primary Election is approaching on March 19, 2024! Here’s what’s happening:

Challenges to candidates’ nominating petitions are being considered by the hearing officers and the Chicago Board of Elections. This process is necessary before the ballot for the Primary Election can be finalized.

The first day for Early Voting in Chicago will be February 15 at the Supersite (191 N Clark) and March 4 in all 50 wards. If you're interested in voting by mail, request a Vote By Mail ballot for the Primary.

Election Judges are still needed for the Primary Election. It is a long day’s volunteer effort, but important! Learn more.

As of January 1, 16-year-olds are now eligible to pre-register to vote in Illinois! They must have an Illinois state I.D. or driver's license to pre-register, and must register online or at the DMV (no paper registration is available). The pre-registration will go into effect automatically when the voter reaches voting age.

LWV Chicago has joined a coalition of nonprofit partners called GOTV 4 TEENS, aiming to activate 16- and 17-year-olds who are eligible to pre-register to vote as well as 17- and 18-year-olds who are of voting age for the 2024 Primary and General Elections.
