Registering New Citizens to Vote

LWV Chicago volunteers have been registering new citizens to vote after their naturalization ceremonies. Since we began this project in December, we have helped register about 550 new voters!

Following each ceremony, new citizens receive a packet that includes a voter registration from. League volunteers are on hand to help with questions, collect the forms and submit them to the appropriate election authorities.

The ceremonies take place at the Federal Courthouse (219 S Dearborn, 25th Floor). There are usually two ceremonies each scheduled day at 10:00 am and 1:30 pm. We’re always looking for help! If you’re interested in registering voters at the courthouse, please email us at league@lwvchicago.org
