Chicago Does Not Recycle Spiders

The city does not offer recycling for the deceased or the re-homing of those from the arachnid community. But for most anything else a human uses—we’ve got you covered! The EAC has done its typical deep dive and usual thorough work and come up with an exhaustive list of links to help you reduce, recycle or reuse in Chicago—almost 100 links! You can find them on our webpage under the column “Tips & Tricks for Sustainable Living.”

This is the kind of list you should look at every time you want to bring something into your home, whether it be bread, shirts, doll clothes, hammers, and so much more. This is also the list you use when you want to send something out of your home such as pumpkins, batteries, contact lenses, or condiment packets from that Chinese place on the corner. Get in the habit of perusing the list to get familiar with all your green options in Chicago.

And there’s plastic—the bane of recycling. We need to be realistic and start where we can. This list has numerous options to help you reduce your plastic use. Hello Stashers®, good bye plastic wrap.
