At the Chicago Board of Elections meeting on November 29, the results from the November 8 General Election will be certified. View the unofficial results.

The next elections in Chicago will be on February 28, 2023, and a runoff (if needed) will be held on April 4.

Three officeholders will be elected citywide:

  • Mayor

  • City Clerk

  • City Treasurer

An alderperson will be elected in each of the 50 wards.

Three Police District Council members will be elected in each of the 22 new Police Districts.

A maximum of three citywide referenda will also be on the ballot. As of November 9, three advisory referendums have been proposed by City Council members for the February 28 ballot: 

  • A measure that would delay approval of the agreement with Commonwealth Edison over the bribery scandal until refunds have been paid to Chicago ratepayers

  • A ban on the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines

  • A declaration that homelessness poses a crisis in public health and the city, state, and federal government should work collectively to secure funding to reduce chronic homelessness

The deadline for placing referendums on the ballots is November 28.
