League Supports Amendment to Increase Transparency in City Government
LWV Chicago President Jane Ruby has sent a letter to the City Council’s Rules Committee Chair Michelle Harris and all members of the City Council urging that the following action be taken:
A proposed amendment to the City Council’s rule on “direct introduction” items be placed on a Rules Committee agenda in the very near future.
The Rules Committee approve this good government measure.
The City Council then pass the amendment so members of the public as well as alders can learn ahead of time the details of all measures that will be discussed and debated at upcoming City Council Committee meetings.
