Positions

The League of Women Voters advocates or lobbies on issues or causes when there is an existing League position that supports the issue or speaks to the cause.

Local, state, and national positions result from a process of study, and positions are developed only when members reach consensus. Members are not required to agree with all League positions.

When a particular issue is addressed by a position, firm action or advocacy can be taken. Without a position, action cannot be taken.
