Ida B. Wells Campaign
It's official! Ida B. Wells now has a street named in her honor.
Ida B. Wells spent half her remarkable life in Chicago, standing up against racist violence, economic injustice, and school segregation.
Thank you to our Ida B. Wells Committee, the 55 civic groups that signed on in support, everyone who contacted their alderman, and Alderman King and Alderman Reilly, who pushed this measure forward. We are proud that the City of Chicago has voted to honor Ida B. Wells, local hero and American freedom fighter.
