Election Updates
7/29/24
The Chicago Board of Elections has started mailing the Voter Canvass to all 1.6 million registered voters in Chicago. If the voter has moved, this mail will not be forwarded but returned to the Board. If the voter is still in Chicago, they will need to file a change of address form.
August 7 is the first day to apply for a Vote By Mail ballot. The ballots will be sent to voters starting on September 26. Voters may also choose to be placed on the VBM permanent roster—this ensures that you get mailed a ballot for all future elections.
The evaluation of candidate petition objections continues. The Chicago Board of Elections has 30 more petitions to consider.
Election Judges and Coordinators are needed on Election Day. These are paid positions. Learn more and sign up.
LWV Chicago continues to register voters after they are sworn in as new citizens at the Federal Courthouse. Contact Jeannee Turner at league@lwvchicago.org if you are interested in volunteering to help.
Please check the “How You Can Help” page on our website for more opportunities to register voters.
