State Redistricting Map and Election News
During its veto session, the Illinois General Assembly passed a remap for Illinois’ 17 US Congressional districts. The map has not yet been signed by the governor, and lawsuits are expected.
The tentative date for the start of filing petitions for candidates for public office is January 13.
Some other election items of interest that were not already in use in Chicago are as follows:
Precincts may be combined to a maximum of 1,800 voters in Chicago
