Offices on the Primary Election Ballot

The slate of candidates for the Primary Election on June 28 is shaping up. Candidates from major political parties have submitted their filings. We are waiting for objections to be acted upon before the candidates can be certified to be on the ballot.

In the Primary Election, voters will choose nominees from each political party for US Congressional seats, state offices, and Cook County offices, as well as judges (to fill vacancies on the Illinois Supreme and Appellate Courts and Cook County Circuit and Sub-Circuit Courts). To be nominated for each party:

  • Illinois Attorney General

  • Illinois Secretary of State

For some offices, there are quite a number of candidates. Use this tool to find those in which you are interested. Just fill in the bottom two sections. Find candidates for Cook County offices here.

LWV Chicago, LWV Cook County, and LWV Illinois will be actively participating in candidate forums and voter registration in the next few months. LWV Cook County will be working with WTTW to produce the Video Voters’ Guide.  LWV Illinois’ candidate guide will be available at IllinoisVoterGuide.org soon.
