Save Your Ash

The City of Chicago has stopped inoculating its ash trees, which are essential for maintaining a healthy urban forest. But a group of alderpersons hopes to reverse that policy—as it turns out, it costs less to save an ash tree than to cut it down.

Ald. Andre Vasquez introduced a resolution to the Chicago City Council in support of resuming an inoculation program, ultimately supported by 42 alderpersons.
