Election 2024: Youth Engagement
We were proud to participate in Common Cause Illinois and She Votes Illinois’ Youth Action Summit on Sunday, September 22. The event covered how 16 and 17-year-olds can pre-register to vote, the importance of combatting disinformation, what it’s like to serve as a Student Election Judge, and how to get involved in Election Protection poll monitoring.
You can now watch the event recording or get the highlights below!
- Make sure you are registered to vote if you are eligible! This includes updating your address if necessary. You can register or update your registration online.
- Sign up to be a student election judge. This is a PAID opportunity. Sign up ASAP—the deadline is approaching. This is open to high school students with at least a 3.0 GPA as well as college students.
- Sign up to be a nonpartisan Election Protection volunteer. This is a great opportunity for people not able to be an election judge. Fill out the form on the lower right-hand side of protectthevote.net. You’ll be trained and can then sign up for 3 or 6 hour shifts on Election Day. This is a volunteer opportunity, but you’ll get some very cool swag.
- Become a digital democracy activist. From the comfort of your own home, you can help fight against misinformation and disinformation. Join a great team that meets every Thursday from across the nation. Sign up.
