The March 19 Primary ballot will include a binding referendum called Bring Chicago Home, asking voters to decide whether to raise the real estate transfer tax on high-end property sales to fight homelessness.

The League has no previously existing position on this type of policy, so it is critical for LWV Chicago to learn about it and arrive at some kind of decision ahead of the election. Our Bring Chicago Home Study Committee invites all members to a presentation of their findings, after which membership will discuss and arrive at a consensus to adopt a position on the referendum.

Only LWV Chicago members are permitted to attend. This meeting will not be recorded.
