Chicago Forest Preserve Walks|Dan Ryan Woods

Support the Cook County Forest Preserves! Join us for a guided nature walk at Dan Ryan Woods as we learn from a Cook County Forest Preserve Naturalist.

We’ll meet at Dan Ryan Woods (S Western Ave & W 87th St, Chicago).

Register to attend below by June 6. The event is limited to 20 people.

Dan Ryan Woods is the highest geological spot in Chicago and features an aqueduct system built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930’s. After the presentation there will be an opportunity to visit Rainbow Cone, Chicago’s iconic ice cream shop.

LWV Chicago is a supporter of the Cook County Forest Preserve VOTE YES referendum coming up on the November ballot—voters will have the opportunity to vote YES to protect clean water sources, air quality, and wildlife in Cook County. A property tax increase of 0.025% (less than $1.66/month for the vast majority of homeowners) will protect, restore, and expand the Cook County Forest Preserves.

More guided nature walks are planned in Chicago-area Forest Preserves. Learn more.
