Chicago Forest Preserve Walks|Beaubien Woods

Support the Cook County Forest Preserves! Join us for a guided nature walk of the African American Heritage Water Trail at Beaubien Woods as we learn from a Cook County Forest Preserve Naturalist.

We’ll meet at Beaubien Woods (W Doty Ave S, southeast of E 130th St & S Ellis Ave).

Register to attend below by July 13. The event is limited to 20 people.

This is an important destination for African American history in Chicago, a waterway along the Underground Railroad, featured in a recent New York Times article.

LWV Chicago is a supporter of the Cook County Forest Preserve VOTE YES referendum coming up on the November ballot—voters will have the opportunity to vote YES to protect clean water sources, air quality, and wildlife in Cook County. A property tax increase of 0.025% (less than $1.66/month for the vast majority of homeowners) will protect, restore, and expand the Cook County Forest Preserves.

More guided nature walks are planned in Chicago-area Forest Preserves. Learn more.
