On February 28, voters across the city will elect three Police District Council members in their districts. Join Promote the Vote (a coalition of which LWV Chicago is a member) to learn what this new position is all about!
The event will feature a presentation and panel discussion with organizers who have been leading the work to bring civilian oversight to the Chicago Police Department and create a Chicago where all of us are safe.
Panelists include Jackie Baldwin, Director of Antiracism & Equity, Jewish Council on Urban Affairs; Max Bever, Director of Public information, Chicago Board of Election Commissioners; Reverend Damon Smith, Deputy Director, District Councils, CCPSA; and Jane Ramsey, President, Just Ventures, LLC.
