This nonpartisan event will provide an opportunity for voters to hear from the candidates and ask them questions about the issues that matter most to them.

Cook County State's Attorney Candidate Forum

We’re teaming up with ABC7 Chicago, Univision Chicago, and the League of Women Voters of Cook County for a Cook County State's Attorney candidate debate! Both candidates, former prosecutor Clayton Harris III and retired Illinois Appellate Court Judge Eileen O'Neill Burke, are confirmed to attend.

Moderated by ABC 7 Chicago anchors Judy Hsu and Ravi Baichwal, along with ABC 7 Political Reporter Craig Wall and Univision Chicago Reporter Mariano Gielis.

The commercial-free debate will be streamed live Thursday, February 8, at 7 pm on abc7chicago.com, on ABC 7's 24/7 digital stream, and on the station's digital channel 7.2. The debate will also be broadcast Friday, February 9, at 10:35 pm on ABC 7.

Univision Chicago will air the debate live, with simultaneous translation, on February 8 at 7 pm on the station's app, YouTube, and Facebook, and will broadcast it on their sister station, Unimas, on Sunday, February 11, at 1 pm.

Illinois’ Primary Election will take place March 19, 2024.

This live forum will be hosted at the Chinese Christian Union Church.

Submit questions for the candidates. A committee will review these questions and edit, consolidate, or remove questions. There is no guarantee that all the questions received will be asked.

The mayoral candidates, Brandon Johnson and Paul Vallas, have also been invited to participate in a mayoral runoff forum from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Brandon Johnson has confirmed.

ABC7 Chicago Mayoral Runoff Forum

We’re once again teaming up with the League of Voters of Illinois, ABC7, and Univision for a mayoral candidate debate!

This debate between the last two candidates standing in the Chicago mayoral race in the April 4 runoff election, Brandon Johnson and Paul Vallas, will be moderated by ABC7 Eyewitness News anchors Judy Hsu and Ravi Baichwal, along with ABC7 political reporter Craig Wall and Univision Chicago anchor Enrique Rodriguez.

The debate will air live March 16 at abc7chicago.com, as well as on ABC7’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. The debate will also air on ABC7’s main channel on Friday, March 17 at 10:35 pm as well as Sunday, March 19 at 4 pm.

Univision will simultaneously translate and air the debate live on their digital platforms and will broadcast it on Univision TV on a later date.

Who's running for alder in the 49th Ward? Join us for a candidates forum!

All three aldermanic candidates are confirmed to attend: Maria Hadden, Belia Rodriguez, and William “Bill” Morton.

All seven 24th Police District Council candidates have been invited to speak at the beginning and talk with attendees at the end of the forum.

The forum will be held in person at Loyola University Chicago Crown Center for the Humanities and livestreamed on LWV Chicago’s Facebook page.

Registration for this event is closed, as we have reached capacity for the venue. We encourage anyone interested to watch the forum livestream.

Spanish and ASL interpretation will be provided. 

Doors will open at 6:30 pm. Forum starts at 7 pm. Seating is first come, first served.

Who's running for alder in the 48th Ward? Join The Edgewater Environmental Coalition for a candidate forum on environmental issues.

EEC will ask the candidates for their stance on issues related to general sustainability, climate change, waste, transportation, development, housing, and community involvement.

Submit a question for the candidates on the RSVP form. Any questions that aren't answered at the live event will be provided to the candidates in a follow-up survey, and EEC will publish the answers for the community.

While the event will be livestreamed via Zoom and recorded for YouTube, EEC recommends attending in person as priority is being given to the in-person experience.

The forum will take place in the Episcopal Church of the Atonement's second floor "gym." Enter through the parish hall on Kenmore, south of the main entrance (sign says Parish Hall). There is street parking, though EEC highly encourages walking/biking/transit.

Disability Mayoral Forum

Join Access Living for a panel discussion on disability issues with Chicago mayoral candidates.

The election for the next mayor of Chicago takes place on February 28, 2023. Prior to early voting, Access Living is hosting a hybrid candidates’ forum on Saturday, January 7, 2023. Members of the disability community will hear from the candidates themselves about the issues most pressing to people with disabilities in the City of Chicago.

This is a hybrid event. The forum itself will take place at Access Living, and members of the public are welcome. Hosted by Andrés Gallegos, a Chicago healthcare law attorney veteran who currently serves as the President-appointed Chair of the National Council on Disability, the event will also be simultaneously live-streamed on Access Living’s website, allowing any participants who are not able or do not wish to attend in person to attend virtually.
